We have been having so much fun being cowboys and cowgirls that we are having a hard time leaving Kim and Kathy's ranch. Of course Tim still has an issue with my open-toed cowboy boots that he thinks are just a little too flip-floppy! But we are loving the easy pace of cowboy life. Our love of Kim and Kathy goes way back when the kids and I were frequent Sunday afternoon visitors back when Tim still lived in camp... so other than the cactus and the sand, it's just like being at the Donally's at home! The kids had riding lessons when they were very young and although a horse was never in the budget, they haven't lost their love for these magnificent animals.
My cow-kids are all practicing roping and working with the horses as instructed by Kathy's Cowboy! Eli has been practicing roping with such determination, it makes me nervous! He held his own in a competition with Kathy, and as suspected, has been "catching" whoever randomly walks past! Eden has fallen in love with a very tall, dark, and handsome horse named Hanson. Mind you, she was most put out yesterday as Hanson just didn't want to do what she wanted him to! But she soon forgave him and proved to be the more stubborn of the two. Naomi, despite her allergies, loves riding bareback and is taking very good care of a horse named Rooster. Eli has taken to MC, the only girl horse... I have no idea what he whispers in her ear, but whatever it is, she seems to love and does his every bidding.
Bath day for the horses was a lot of fun and worth some great Kodak moments! And although they are mostly boy-horses, I did manage to braid their hair and make them pretty (once a hippie, always a hippie!). Sorry Kim! Maybe I'll start my own tribe of Horse Hippies?

Betty Kornelsen I love your blogs, Roz, even though I don't always comment, I always read them, and even get a kick out of them. Have a great time.
Grama-Belle That is NOT my correct email address but when I put the correct one in it is NOT accepted?? The right one is: [email protected] Love your cowboys and can relate to them a bit, although many, many years ago..
