Arrived in Aswan at 1pm and was glad to get off the train..... Was met at the train station by lots of touts and taxi drivers. Said goodbye to Jirka as he headed to a hostal whilst i went to buy my bus ticket to Abu Simbel.
Did a deal with the taxi driver to take me to the high dam in Aswan and back to the bus station. Taxi driver was called Mordan and gave me a guided tour of Aswan and the dam. The temperature was much cooler than Cairo and very windy around the dam.
Headed to bus station at 4pm to take my bus at 5pm, met 2 americans and a french guy who i sat next to on the bus. Bus journey was never ending but fantastic scenery through the Sahara desert. Made a pit stop half way on route and was very windy and raining.
Arrived at Abul simbel at 9pm after dropping off every local off to their door....... French guy was called Luc and Luc and i went to get something to eat which took ages as we had 3 power cuts and had to eat with candle lights. Policeman accompanied us to our hostal ( not sure why , think he was lonely)
We were met by Mr Abdul, the owner of the hostal and was very friendly towards me!! After taking passport details he pinched my arse and was touching my arm a bit too much for my liking. The room was very dirty and very very hot with no hot water..... Mr Abdul bought me a bucket of cold water which was a relief as was very smelley after travelling for a few days.Mr Abdul kept asking me if i wanted to have tea with him and politely said La Shokrun which is no thank you and bolted my door twice. As i bolted the door a cockroach ran across the room and ran it over with the fridge (eeehhh) Went to clean my teeth and another 2 cockroaches ran acroos the floor and used my hiking boot to kill it! Just before i got into bed another cockroach came out of the bed side drawers and thought it was going to go into my bed but the poor thing got splattered with my boot..... Going to be dreaming of cockroaches tonight....
