On Sunday Sonia took us to the Brussels Market in Bruxelles-Zuid (South Brussels). What a crazy place. There were all of these vendors set up under tents selling everything from power strips to beautiful fabrics to clothes to food. I can't even begin to describe the amount of people and stuff. The olives at the food counters seemed to go on forever. WHO KNEW there are so many different types of olives in the world! And those were some of the more popular tables. After the market we spent some time "orienting" ourselves and finally figured out how to take the tram to another section of Brussels that was supposed to be near the Musee Horta (Horta is apparently credited as the father of Art Nouveau). After a few tries, we found a restaurant and had some lunch (ask mom what "crevettes" are - and no, they aren't regular size shrimp). After lunch we found our way to the Horta Museum - it was very pretty and had amazing furnishings but we couldn't take pictures and the guys there were mean (i.e. VERY snooty) . So we headed back home, had some dinner and came home. It was an interesting day to say the least but it was neat to see some of the less then touristy areas of the city. So that's it for now. Au Revoir.
