well I made it, though the security at Taba obviously didn't want me. They took my backpack apart trying to find something that came up on the x-ray. It turned out to be my books from ILI, and they only found them when they asked me if there was any other compartment they hadn't checked. Why didn't they ask me in the first place the sweedlings? I also got told by the security guy that I looked about 16. He was surprised that I was travelling on me tod. I just shrugged and grinned, which seems my response to a lot of things nowadays.
Och well, the weather is rather lovely, although it did rain a little last night. Robert's family feed me way too much and now I am getting ready for Pesach. Been to Jaffa and the esplanade, also to Mini Israel which is a cute protrayal of the most famous sights the Holy Land has to offer. Of course they miss out the checkpoints and the West Bank and Gaza. And the Golan heights features, so they are ovbiously not quite ready to give that back to Syria yet...
My mother instructed me to go to Bethlehem and spend some shekels there on tourist tat to keep the Christians there going, so that's where I am off to on Wednesday. Jerusalem on thursday methinks and the Dead Sea on Saturday. Jericho is proving a little difficult to get to - no tours seem to go there, and frankly I do not feel particularly happy going alone. We shall see.
enough rambling for now, off I go to the museum of the Jewish diaspora...
