oh happy day what wonderful weather we are having for the time of year. Have spent the past few days exploring Budapest and its attractions and let me say right now that there is plenty to do for pretty much anyone. I have been to numerous museums, including the eerie terror haza which was the centre of activities (including torture in the cellars) for the red arrow party in the second world war and the secrfet police of the communist era. there are some incredible buildings around here such as the museum for the applied arts which is arts and crafts to art noveau, and there are two very impressive synagogues in the old ghetto, one of which resembles a cathedral in size.
?The best thing so far though has GOT to be the folk dancing on wednesday night. We went to two places, the first one was a lot of couple dancing witha lot of people knowing their stuff and me really not. Fortunately if you had the good fortune to get a guy whoknew what he was doing it was fairly straightforward, but if you didnot.....
?The second place was me favourite because they had live music. There was also a cool dude who was dressed in the traditional garb as befits a dancer dancing a dance from eastern Romania including some impressive black boots and a white flowing robe and a black hat. I only wished i could have worn the same abd got away with it.
