Saying goodbye to everyone was AWFUL! Especially Jack (who i saw cry-yesss) grandparents, papa k & robot! Amy & I thought we were SO grown-up when we got Heathrow, despite having a panic that it would take AT LEAST 75 minutes to get from terminal 1 to terminal 4 (it took us 15 minutes, if that).
Our flight to Singapore was amusing for various reasons; possibly my favourite being that we were sitting next to a menthol smelling rabbi, who took great delight in disappearing for hours at a time with his coat and hat. Other highlights include the in-flight entertainment, various chicken dishes, pretending my seat was a wheelchair, sleeping and watching amy sleep. I didn't stand up or go to the toilet for 12hours, quite an achievement.
Arrived in Singapore which was generally fine, and got picked up by a fat man in a pink shirt who was quite bossy. Blah blah drove to the hostel. Saw various pick up trucks with around 50indian men crammed into the back and ooohed and ahhhed at the lights.
The hostel is lovely jubbly (minus the toilet that wouldn't flush-but is now fixed) and we discovered an amazing rooftop garden which we had all to ourselves. Full of sun loungers and little lights and plants and oooh i could talk about it for ages. Lovely view of the city of course.
At around 10 we decided we were so hungry and went on a mission for food. Mission is definetly the correct term to use. We started walking through mount emily park, however some strange men started shouting at us so we 'calmly walked away' (actually moved at top speed, not calm at all) back to the hostel (avoiding strange man in fluroescent yellow wellies), then round the entire hostel deciding if we could survive the night on kickapoo joy juice and special k from the vending machine. Eventually we decided to be brave and walked as fast as our sweaty little legs could carry us to little india (where we were totally safe and not attacked at all :) )
Woke up on tuesday morning (still monday for all you guys) and the weather looked HORRIBLE, in fact it rained today. Humidity and rain is not a good look for my hair.
We took a trip to Sentosa island, which is full of general attractions like a giant lion statue, more free trams and buses than you could imagine, horrible views and pink dolphins. We took the cable car over there, which was fairly amusing with amy asking various questions like 'Will they make us get out at the top of that pole?!' (the pole being tiny and about 1million feet off the ground) We drank our apple juice which had LUMPS of aloe vera in - and that was probably the best part of sentosa island. Actually i lie, the best part was going home. As well as watching some half pink/half grey dolphins dance around to charv beats and nod their heads.
We ended up in a shopping centre which had Gap/Marks & Spencers/topshop/warehouse - so obviously were happy to have a look around. I tried not to spend money, but couldn't help it!
Right i'm sick of writing now & imagine i've been on the internet for long enough! Tatty bye xxx
