Early start again, but not quite as early as yesterday... And yet another long drive.... Tbh I'm getting a bit fed up of this stay for 1 night here then a whole day travelling.... Im on holiday ...:/ Especially since I'm getting pretty travel sick on all of these bloody winding roads.... Stopped off at a seal colony... Nice to see loads of seals... But if you ask me they are just very inefficient dogs.... They try and walk like them... But are just not very good at it, and make it look hard work in the process.... Then it was to pancake rocks where there were blow holes.... Water from the sea tides shaping the rocks and some parts shooting up through the gaps upto the sky.... Then we arrived in greymouth, standard mini town.... Not a lot here... Went to countdown for some supplies for tomorrow and tomorrow evening.... But highlight so far... The entire towns hostels and motels are all booked up since "new Zealand's got talent" was here this week and there is an entire school on a trip so when we arrived at the hostel we were told we had been upgraded from the twin room to a double... With en suite.... Score on the en suite front but the words "double" we're pushing it a bit.... So both Kat and i who are avid cover stealers... Are in for a treat...
Of to the pub for dinner and drinks and group activities ;)
Returned from bar...too many group activities to mention and drink prizes but all were limited by "law"... It is also illegal to do 241 in NZ.... Strange..! I participated in throwing cards into a jug.... No one stipulated in the rules cards couldnt be scrumpled into balls.... But apparently the rule makers, who too easily resembled a regime did not allow it..... Then played rock paper scissors... I came 2nd out of 20 odd people... As you can imagine I took it seriously as I hate to loose.... All the same this I wouldn't have minded as the looser had to take on "blue" the bars resident "NZ has got talent" contestant.... If only you could see this bloke and how seriously he took this challenge you would want to loose to take him on too... He was the typical break dancer..... But a skinny 5'3" bloke who was goofy at best... Who lifted his top up far too frequently to make it acceptable half spinning half falling.... Cannot wait to see him on the out-takes...
Met some other medics too who are on their elective... That was quite cool... There is a certain personality type that goes with the profession.... You can't describe it, but you just know it....the 4 of us were more game for a laugh than the rest, but in a jokey way... Myself and the my opposition for rock paper scissors was a medic.... When we both simultaneously feigned warning up and stretching for the challenge... You know you're in good company....
Til tomorrow guys.... Franz josef.... Glaciers etc..! Thinking of a sunset kayak... But there is also the option of a glacier spa.... What will win... Culture experience or finally a day of relaxation...?!
Lots of love xxxxx
Ps stars are amazing out here tonight and anticipate that they will get better tomorrow... Math and tom... You would love it xxxx
Pps stopping to look at pretty things are nice.... But I've seen enough pretty things now... I'm all cultured out.... Holiday....?! Xxxx
