so my dear farang, i finally tore myself away from Phi Phi. What had originally only meant to be a few days over here seemed to get extended and extended....I spent 10 days here, as mentioned previously diving and mainly not wearing any shoes at all. Kind of imagine a portly Mowgli on the island!! Padding around, eating bananas. I had such a cool time here, meeting loads of ace tourists and also the locals seemed to like me to. So much so, i have been invited back to work out here. Watch this space.....
But before i tempt fate, i must start closing off my blogs for phase one of this adventure. I have left the islands, to an overture of Celine Dion on the enormous catereman(?) boat heading for Phuket. As we tanked along, with 500 passengers, almost sinking a speed boat trying to cut our path, the captain increased the engine speed, blasting the theme from Titanic out of the speaker system!! Everyone on the boat looked really nervous, and as there was a huge sinking of the ferry in the harbour only a few years ago. Quite an amusing/worrying moment and one ill always remember as Thai sense of humour.
So ive done the islands, one more night in Phuket a the awesome penthouse apartment, Stuart very kindly let me stay in, a few more losing games of Killer Pool and a beer or two before i headed for the 5th time to Bangkok.
Where ill update the final part of Sir James Crenshaw's travel blog phase one.
Take it easy....
