Chixsilog, Pinoy, Tagalog. Some ofthe words i have picked up in my first few days here in paradise. Dont know hello or thank you yet, but will pick them up i guess.
Its weird here, authenticaly Asian people, but mainly catholic and everyone speaks with an American accent. Its the most touristy place i have ever been to, but that doesnt take the gloss of this place. It really is paradise. Ill get some good shots of the beach and sunsets as i go.
so the place is beautiful, but ill start with how i got here.....
....Flew from Honkers in an ickle plane. No great shakes here into Manila in about 2 hours. Peasy. As i was kept awake all night by the noisy Nigerians in Honk Gong, i had 0 hours sleep the night before, by this time i was fairly tired and irritable.
Decided that instead of heading into Manila for the night, i would dive straight in to Boracay. Queued up with locals for my 900peso flight (15GBP) which after a short wait with what seemed like 1000+ people waiting for the same flight, it took me on a really little plane across the seas to caticlan.
In the end, I was the only passenger on the flight who wasnt related. Here i met Freddie a local from Daniclog (sp) City in Southern Philipines and his extensive familly who all had a weekend away in Boracay. 10 of them. They were lovely and took me under their wing which made the rest of the journey seamless. Which by this time i was so tired that i kept losing all my tickets and travel documents (sound familiar)
Manila ---- plane ----Caticlan ----- cyclo (tricycle motorbike) ----- ferry (pretty dodgy small boat.
So without wanting to bore with every small detail of my journey, i was in Boarcay on White beach (see pictures) by sunset on the same day as i was in Honk Kong.
Shattered, no sleep for 48 hours. But happy and most of all, in paradise......
I got a new camera in HK so check out the pics.
