AUSTRALIA!
Many apologies for the lack of blogging- Hannah has been an extremely bad influence! Ahhh St. Patrick's Day- after walking round Melbourne for hours and hours in search of green tshirts we eventually found some for about $2 which we destroyed with Irish banter then headed for O'Reilly's on Chapel Street. The Irish band, Guinness and shots were flowing… life was good. The next day was not, we found the largest portion of chips in Australia to munch on in Malvern whilst watching a 70 year old homosexual ride Thomas the Tank Engine round the shopping centre we were sat in, we later saw the same guy/girl a few days later in St. Kilda.
Visited some of Kate's relies Ian and Jane on Friday evening for some beef and wine which was lovely. On the Saturday we left Hannah's brothers flat in Malvern and ventured into the town of St. Kilda on the beachy outskirts of Melbourne. Found a hostel dorm which smelt like male feet- a couple of guys who were waiting for passport delivery/taking antibiotics/black eyed and had literally not left the room for approximately two weeks. Turns out the hostel kitchen had actually been flooded out and so were providing free meals- result! Oh and if you think six months is a long time to be away…. we met a girl who had been travelling for six years (obviously her family don't like her… better play your cards right guys).
After a day at the beach on Sunday we went to watch Ian's jazz band at a local resturant/concert venue in the evening. Still feeling incredibly rough- (goon does not leave you feeling good at all), it was nice to know Ian's son Tim and his girlfriend were feeling equally as bad. Along with a spot of sunstroke, we all felt as though we were about to vom all over the most expensive meal we had eaten so far!
On Monday night Han won a $50 bar tab at the hostel as a result of swapping clothes with a member of the opposite sex (obviously done in a dignified way). We ended up in a bar called the Prince of Wales (not Chorley) and again woke up on Tuesday with a goon-over (goon induced hangover). This was not a pleasant occasion considering we had to face Ramsay Street that day. We paid our dollars only to be told we wouldn't actually be allowed on Ramsay Street as was closed for filming (SCAM)… We did however get to see some of this filming in action (Tasha and co… currently a big Neighbours storyline) also meeting Ringo Brown.
Wednesday we were Cairns bound on our fantastic little Tiger Airways flight… We landed in Cairns to 33 degree heat and humidity. Met by Ian's sister Sharman- very difficult to identify somebody who you have no clue as to what they look like. It all worked out OK and we also passed the sniffer dog test… just. Sharman took us to their lovely house in Trinity Beach; pool and Cadbury's supply- amazing!
Had an evening round the night markets and bars of Cairns, due to the tropical climate we also travelled with BIG umbrellas (representing the British). Saturday we headed north to Port Douglas which actually had the coolest aircon in town- Kate ended up fully clothed Nottingham style that night whilst the tropical heat remained outside. Had multiple bottles of wine, played pool badly and watched an awesome cover band next to a not so awesome dancer. Hangovers were mild following wine of the bottled variety in comparison to the goonover.
Walked for miles to officially find the worst internet connection in Australia to wish Siobhan's Dad Happy Birthday- not impressed. Returned to Cairns today leaving Hannah with what will hopefully be her multimillion dollar job at a Spa Resort which even has crocodiles on the golf course- yes she is crazy. Very sad to separate after our 2 week Australian adventure- I'm sure she'll be having a rave though ;)
Sharman kindly took us to see some wild Kangaroos this morning (Siobhan nearly got killed by a MAHOOOSIVE spider!) We also watched bungy in action- after walking/crawling up to the 50 metre platform overlooking death, we have decided to avoid that extreme sport for the time being. We're now in a standard hostel feeling pretty excited about out 6am get up (NAAAAT) for tomorrow's reef/snorkel/diving trip.
FYI: Kate is on her sixth book of the trip and has no eggs to report on this occasion.
Brown Rating: 15%
Love you all

Mum/Ginny Great catch-up. Most was comprehensible (congratulations) but goon needs more explanation - for me at least! (Worth putting some thought to this Kate you only need 8 more egg meals for them to taste delicious - so go for it girl!). xxxxx
