We finally left Bangkok last night at 10. The train station was like something from a black and white film, but nether the less it was a good laugh. The journey itself was the best part of the trip so far. We spent our night sleeping comfortably on a single bunk, snug as bugs with big fluffy pillows and a nice warm blanket (which we needed as the window didnt shut). Sharing the journey were a carriage full of backpackers all with the same destination -Full Moon Party.
For the first few hours we wached the sights fly by our window as we left the city, all lit up in preperation for the festival of the floating lights. Then our seats were converted into beds and although we had payed for two bunks, the prospect of sleeping on the top didnt appeal to either of us, so we drew our curian, plugged in our i-pod and drifted off. Five hours later the conducter awoke us from our slumber and signaled we would be ariving shortly. Geting of the train was a task as thirty backpacks sent you flying. We wer then all hearded from the station to a coach and from a coach to a ferry for a total of another four hour journey.
At the port our lift had gone to the wrong port so we grabbed a share taxi with a tag along or two and made our way to the resort, all bundled in the back of a pick up truck. On arrival we were amazed! Our bungalow was lovely, a big double bed, clean bathroom, kitchenette and only a stones throgh from the beach. The whole resort is layered with palm trees, the sea is beautifull, clear and warm, the people are friendly - DEFINATLY worth the journey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
