We had a fabulous time in New Zealand with Eve, Simon, Esmee and William. We had 10 days in Rotorua with them, over Christmas and New Year. We also travelled north to Northlands (Tutukaka - beautiful!), to west Auckland (Titirangi) and south west to Napier, the Art Deco town, which we are revisiting in February for the annual Art Deco week. Got my cloche hat, pearls and cigarette holder at the ready! New Zealand is truly, truly beautiful. We didn't realise however, that the weather is just as changeable as in the UK! We rented a Morgan (Mike wanted to feel at home!) and didn't bother with the offered roof (we never use the roof on the Mog in the UK....we just take a risk with the weather!) as we didn't think we'd need it.....it is Spring/Summer there after all! Yes we did get wet! VERY wet on the Saturday we had a 3-4 hour drive from Rotorua to Titirangi! Anybody flying out there, take a light mac! We can recommend San Francisco airport. Very light, airy and modern with very friendly staff - even the dreaded customs officials were very friendly. The opposite, we've been told, to those at LA. The flight is incredibly LONG!!!! I never realised the world was so flippin' big! But it was worth it to see my girl! And of course Simon, The Bean and The Dude! Thanks for your hospitality guys. Looking forward to seeing you in about a month....my ankle swelling may have gone down before I fly again!!!!! xxxx
