Slept as well as you can on a boat ;) The kids wake up quite early so there's no sleeping in but who would want to when you're in paradise?! Helped myself to breakfast (cereal) and got into my cozzie... We headed off to another island and dropped anchor for the morning. There was a ship wreck which we went to snorkel around just near where we anchored the boat. We then swam over to the island (we had to pay $2 on this one) and after swimming for quite a while we got involved in an intense game of beach volleyball with some locals! The scoring and rules were dodgy to say the least but it was awesome to be able to exercise a bit and just have a laugh... The heat was so intense - poor Brett even had to stop playing at one stage he felt so faint- so after the end of the second game we called it quits and went and sat in the crystal blue sea and soaked up the sun for as long as we could! We eventually swam back to the boat and lazed about on deck before we were called for lunch... A nice bowl of spaghetti bolognaise and some salad! We then moved off to another quieter island where we anchored for the afternoon and night. Headed over to the island on the dinghy- didn't need to pay a fee here if we bought drinks so got a nice refreshing coke! (Tiny fridge on the boat so not many cold drinks going around... Tough in this heat!!) We literally lay down on the beach for a while and then sat in the sea just chatting with Aoife and Brett for ages... We got involved in games of "donkey" and piggy in the middle in the sea with Brett's hacky sack which really brought us back to our childhood days :) Such fun! All sunned out, we headed back to the boat, lazed about, took turns trying to freshen up with the shower at the back of the boat (nothing quite like shaving in the sea, washing hair with limited fresh water etc... Hehe) and then when the sun was setting we all sat at the front of the boat playing the question game and having some more laughs! Sym had picked up another sailor who was alone on his boat so he joined us for sundowners and dinner... I forget his name but he was thrilled to have found South Africans as he could finally discuss his love for Rodrigues!! So so cool! We ended up telling the Ozzy girls the story and this old man went and plugged in his I-pad to the speakers so we sat listening to Rodrigues during sunset - quite a cool moment I must say! We had a delicious chicken curry for dinner cooked by Sym! And we went back to the front of the boat and chilled out there for the rest of the evening... We could only really go to sleep when our visitor had left us so eventually we went to brush our teeth specifically to hint at the fact that we were ready for bed and he should go back to his boat ;) What a stunning day! Very spoilt...
Lesson of the day: Always ALWAYS put sunblock on your lips!!!!! Wow I feel like I have had Botox they are so swollen from the sun...
Moment of the day: Listening to Rodrigues while sipping champagne and watching the sun set over the Caribbean Sea... <3
