Jim and Sim's World Adventure
We have spent the last four days with Richard, Araminta, Kaidyn and Jehd in Melbourne.
On the day that we arrived we sat in the airport for ages waiting for our transport to arrive...Ha Ha....Araminta didn't know what we looked like and we didn't know what she looked like and she didn't want to hold up a naff sign with our names on so needless to say it took a while for us to meet up.
We settled into our movie star mansion quite comfortably.
On the 10th we drove along the Great Ocean Road, which was more road than Ocean as the name suggests, but it was really beautiful and scenic. We did it in a day but missed our ferry on the way back, which meant it took us an extra hour and a half to get back to Richards house. Missed out on Richards Birthday Curry and had to settle for Pizza instead (boo).
On the 11th we went into the city. We wandered around and drank coffee and went to Federation Square which is a bit wierd and up to the top of the Rialto tower which was really good. Richard cooked dinner!!!! When we say cooked he kind of did something with the potatoes and then Araminta, Michael and Anya finished it all off...it was very nice though.
On the 12th we started off the day by shovelling two tons of soil in Araminta's parents garden (apparently we had to earn our keep or something!!!). We then went to watch Kaidyn play footy, which was really good, apart from the burst ear drums from some of the parents shouting too loud (don't know who that was.....) We went to Richards restaurant for lunch, which was fabulous, we had a tour of the winery grounds as well while we were there.
In the evening we had the luxury of having the house to ourselves as Richard and co were going out for another birthday meal!!! We had some wine, watched a film, ate more pizza, and had a bath (the first for two months - we do have showers though).
On the 13th we went to the market where Araminta has a stall and then went down the beach with the dogs and the kids. Richard tried to teach Jim to fly a kite without much success. In the afternoon we went to the hot springs, Simone didn't go in as she had done her back in shovelling soil!! Jim said that it was really nice and relaxing. In the evening we went out for a meal (for Richards Birthday)which was great.
Left Melbourne this morning for Sydney. We had a fab time with Richard and Co, thanks very much for everything its really appreciated.
