Vicky and Natalie's Adventures
Here we are on the edge of Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake! The first thing I noticed was how big it was...I don't know why I was suprised since its such a big feature on maps! We stayed in Puno on the Peruvian side for a night and went to visit the Uros floating islands before we made it over here to Bolivia. They literally are islands that float on the lake and are made out of reeds. It was quite impressive to see people actually living on them although they seem like a big tourist attraction and even the guys taking us to visit the islands said it was a bit of a show. We found a nice cake shop in Puno and took several slices of chocolate cake to eat on the truck! Luckily I saved a slice and the first day in Copacabana I spent up a hill eating cake and drinking rum with a very nice chap called Simon (from London) who is also on the truck. It was very quite and we just stared over the lake for hours before it started getting quite windy at which point we headed down the the bottom of the hill and had pancakes and beer with one of the truck drivers! Had to go on a pedalo with Nat, Simon and the truck driver, Ben. It wasn't as good as the ones in Cannon Hill Park though...it didn't go very fast! The only other major event was when I sat on a guitar and ripped my trousers. Oh dear!
