Sian's global adventure
hi
so i survived the inca trail. almost killed me but i survived it! seriously the hardest thing ive ever done. all the walking ive done before seem like strolls- there is no comparison to climbing at that altitude! but the highest point i got to was 4015 meters. every inch seems likea mile and u can barely breathe but im glad i made it. emma IMPORTANT please note- make sure ur inca trail package includes the porters to carry food, camping equipment and most of ur belongings. it is not possible for us spoilt westerners to do that trail carryng much backpack. i struggled with less than 4 kilos- mostly water! so we had my birthday and mums birthday on the trail. the porters carried cakes for us and we blew out candles which was pretty cool. thankls everyone for cards, texts and emails.
inca trail was spectacular. a real challenge but scenery was unbelievable. my pics dont do much justice. i spent more time trying to breathe than take photos im afraid!
bad news is now unfortunately im a little poorly, some kinda hard core infection thats trying to knock me sideways so ive had a day in bed in puno and missed the boat trips out on lake titicaca which sucks.... but got to recover a little before la paz. trying to eat something today. feeling homesick, always worse when ur ill. mums gone out on a boat to floating islands. she is luckily not got hit by the illness. some people have had to cut trips short and fly back to see level because of altitude while a few have just spent a couple of days in bed like me.
hi to evryone. missing u all. special note sorry to Ria, hope she sees this. i heard the news and im so sorry for ur loss.
take care allxxx
