hello all!!!
so we arrive in bangkok two days ago - went out in the evening to the backpackers street full of hostals, bars and market stalls - it was so busy, so colourful, and noisey but great fun! ate dinner for about 3 quid! brought thia beer and drank as we were shoping in the markets - so much fun and the beer was super cheep and ice cold - lovely!
second day we packed in all the sights seeing the lying down budda which is huge - about 50 meters in lenght and all gold! we got lost in bankok trying to work out the maps but the thia people are so helpful and kind we worked it out and went to see china town in bangkok and see all the market stalls! in the evening we met our trip leader and got to ask her lots of thing - she is really helpful too. in the evening we decide to take a tuk tuk to the famous red light district- check out video peps! we are such novists..we didnt even get out of the tuk tuk..too scared so the kind tuk tuk driver too us round the street again for extra photo oportunities!! we are so lame!
yesterday we went to the foating markets and through bangkoks equivalent of venice! it was really beautiful! no sea sickness thank goodness however i (sarah) managed to break the seat in the boat and nearly fell in! typical!
sian has already been sick and has a million mozzy bits, i have a broken camera and a few mozzy bits - owch!
took the overnight train to chaing mia today - its wonderful here - the air is clean and the hotel lovely! we have already checked out the pool and started the tanning! woohoo! however sian is already shocking and misteriously very brown????
we are off the the night bazzars tonight for bargening and dinner!
met two really nice aussie girls, tess and elise, who are only 18 but some how seem to be showing me and sian all the ropes...eating all the wonderfull market food - its so so good! and no food poisoning yet mums!
tomorrow we start our trek into the mountains - only bringing a tiny rucksac with one change of clothes in and mabe some soap...we leave our big bags at the hotel. the trek is for 3 days and we are camping in huts and going elephant riding too! no hot water for 3 days and no home comforts - how will we ever survive without the strainteners!!! hehe!
