Sevilla!!
This little city in Spain is the perfect examle of southern Europe. Chilled out people, lot of street art, warm and friendly shop keepes and amazing history everywhere.
1)We went to the biggest gothic and the third biggest Church in the world. It's called the Sevilla Cathedral. It's huuuuuge and it's got stuff from 12th century on wards and Colombus's tomb! We spent hours here...it's just breathtaking, every tiny detail- the altars, the paintings, the pillars, the stained glass windows, even the doors! Just beautiful. My favorite thing about this place was it's sheer size.
2) After that we went to the Alacazar palace..beautiful muslim plus early christian influences- it's got a great collection of China ware or porcelain and tiles. Some unbelivably large paintings and maps. The cielings are also just breathtaking. Super glad we took audio guides in both of these places. My fav was the 'room with the stars'...ceiling filled with golden stars.
3) Fleminco show! Moving,on so many levels. You don't understand the lyrics or what the dancer is exactly trying to say. But it goes deep into you, pierces your soul and captivates you. Fleminco reminds me of tap dance, the swift movements, the fluid like body postures...it's beautiful. A must watch in spain
