Zvi Josef's Travels
Upon landing in Bucharest, we immediately noticed the white color all over the place.
The country was under a heavy snow storm earlier this week.
We landed into -14 degrees (feels like -21 degrees) and headed to our hotel, using a sort of decent taxi (kinda rare in Bucharest).
We arrived to the hotel and were upgraded twice due to our Platinum status (despite this being a reward stay).
After exploring our junior suite and the club lounge, we started walking to the Parliament gigantic building. What should've been a 10-minute walk turned out to be a 40 minutes of walking in 50 centimeters of snow (although we were properly dressed).
We've NEVER experienced such low temperatures before.
The Parliament building was enormous and the tour was lovely.
We then returned back to the hotel using a rip-off cab, had some food and headed back to the old town, using a cab driven by a Gypsy.
We visited several churches, did some shopping and walking around a park and tried to head back to the hotel, but had to wait for a taxi for over 15 minutes in a blistering -22 degrees weather. Brrrrr.
Upon arriving to the hotel, we went for some pre-dinner snacks, some rest and then a nice dinner at a Romanian-Italian restaurant at the hotel.
All in all, a frrrrrrreezing, but lovely first day in Bucharest. :)
