Peter's square as we really wanted to visit the Basilica, only to discover the square was pack with hundred of thousands of people and that the Pope was about to congratuate them for Easter. We had a great day today. We started it by a very quick 3-hour tour of the Vatican museums, using e-tickets we've books online, thus saving us hours of waiting in endless lines. The museums were great but as we're not really art lovers, they were rather quick. Had an uneventful flight with Alitalia (such a low-cost carrier...) and landed in Italy at 7:45 in the morning. 45 minutes later we were on a taxi to the hotel, which agreed to check us in at 9:00.
