Sinead & Pa's Travels
Fiji is the first country to see the sun each day so we were the first people in the world to celebrate Paddys day! It was the rainest day in Fiji so I nearly felt like I was back at home! Well except for the heat, palm trees, tans etc...
Today we hung out with 2 English girls who came over on the flight with us.
In the morning we hung out in Nadi town. For anybody going to Fiji, stay away from this city, everyone is trying to rip you off and pester you. It is the one part of Fiji I didnt like including the people. Pa being the naive sucker that he is, got ripped off big time buying ornaments.
Anybody coming to Fiji, you must get the bus its like 20cent to experience a broken down piece of s***! Its hilarious, it even drives down on the beach so watch your drinks Its a bumpy ride! In saying that taxis aren't that much better-the amount of times we nearly crashed in one is not even funny! One time we were driving a taxi driver over took 5 cars in once while coming up to a bend-I'm not joking! You take your own life in your hands driving here!
Anyway in true paddys day style we started drinking from 2 with the English girls until happy hour, then the drinking games started!
We eventually found an Irish person to join us. A guy from Bantry with a republic of Cork tshirt!
That evening Pa and I realized that we got extremely burnt despite using factor 40. Pa had blistering burns on his back for the duration of Fiji so was covered up the whole time. Yuck! We stuck out like sore thumbs as everybody else had golden tans.
