A day full of events. Had a walk down the famous La Rambla, a tree lined boulevard usually full of mime and street artists. Sadly it a bit chilly for them, even tho us hardy Mancunians think its a warm day lol.
We then hit the new man-made marina. But it's all a bit false and modern for me, finally we hit the beach and watched some surfers braving the winter breakers. I must admit I nearly went for a swim, we did take our swimming gear, but there was a cold wind so I chickened out lol.
Most people visit the Gothic quarter, and it is fabulous, but for a real treat to the senses we visited the Barri quarter. Awesome medieval buildings and small back streets. It was fantastic.
We finished the evening with our fellow hostellers by drinking the Sangria we had bought and carried for 3 miles.
Just so you have an idea of how much a bargain we got, we bought 1 litre of Sangria at Guell park and it cost 14 euros. At the local Spar we bought 5 litres for 12 euros. And it was very tasty stuff, major bargain lol.
