Guten Tag, Hallo from Vienna!

We left Paris this morning after one of the special highlights of our trip thus far - our tour of the D Day war beaches in Normandy. What a day, it was by far an eye opening and educational page from the history books... we saw juno beach, we visited the canadian cemetary, and made stops at omaha beach, gold beach, and point de hoc. saw some incredible french countryside and quaint farm villages along the way... mom was seriously looking at real estate for retirement in a home by the beach. just stunning!

But we said our last au revoir to Paris, a city we grew to love... it was hard to leave.

Today was a day of travel, we got in to Vienna mid afternoon, and walked through the Stadtpark gardens, found a lovely dinner spot and did what we always end up doing in each new city... we walked, and walked and walked. This seems to help us get acquainted with the people, the places and the new culture of our surroundings.

We didnt have schnitzel tonight, but we are determined to try it tomorrow...

it was a beautiful night, we strolled down open pedestrian streets lined with shoe stores, dessert cafes and live music. A very vibrant city, but a stark contrast from the hustle-bustle of Paris at night. We found ourselves very comfortable with the new pace...

tomorrow we are touring all day -palaces, churches, markets and museums.

we have bought a bulk of internet time, so we promise to post pictures tomorrow night!
