Vaal dam
We awoke to a frosty morning, full of anticipation for our 4x4 driving adventure. A local recreational area (a disused quarry that has been turned into a lovely picnic area & lake) also has a very challenging 4x4 driving track. Off we went with Darrell in his Toyota Prada leading the way. We had a great day, learnt a lot and I'm very impressed with how well Pumba handled the ups and downs of the track, and how competently Ray handled the vehicle. I'm in good hands!!
It was a full day out so a quiet evening in front of the heater was in order.

Another glorious winters day at the dam. There is a fresh breeze, temperature prob around 8-10 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Saturday is get2gether night at the dam so whilst R & Darrell worked on Pumba preparing her for the weeks ahead Linda & I prepared for dinner in her amazing restaurant style kitchen. She has every tool for every job to speed up the prep work.
A chilled out afternoon was followed by a delicious dinner with interesting & stimulating conversation with the 'local dam' population. Politics to 4x4 driving, quad copters and travel and back again were all covered.

A very relaxed Sunday for us all, a few chores, walks, a little local shopping & starting to sort out how to pack Pumba.
