Afternoon Guys
So, I arrived in Noosa to torrential rain!! As I couldn't check in until later on I took a walk into town but due to the sudden downpour I got stranded in a bus stop with a couple from South Africa. We had a nice little chat though! When the rain eased up I mooched around town and took shelter in an internet Café and KFC when it started pi**ing it down again!! Honestly they call the east coast the sunshine coast!! Well we've not seen much sunshine the past few days I can tell you!
I returned from the supermarket and chilled out.The weather wasn't great but the hostel (YHA Halse Lodge) was wonderful. My favourite hostel ever! Set in 2 acres of rain forest, and 100 meters from the beach, you can lounge about in comfy sofas on the balcony and relax whilst listening to the wildlife! Pure bliss! At 6pm there was a welcome meeting, which again is a great idea, and I think more hostels should do this. We were given a free glass of wine and told about the town/hostel and inevitably we all got chatting, I ended up going for a kebab for dinner with some new friends including my room mate Charlotte and Abi (a chick from Sydney).I must say the kebab was yummy, they put hummus and pineapple in them over here, I will be requesting this onmy kebabs back home from now on!! We sat in the bar drinking until they threw us out! Check me out, I stuck on diet cokes all night! Are you proud Mum?!?
On Sunday, I hit the beach. I was in such a hurry to get there (as I hadn't seen the sun in a couple of days) I didn't put any cream on until I was down there. Big mistake, when I returned back to the hostel later that day I had a burnt neck and burnt random patches on my arm which made me look very silly indeed! Elliot and Alex had arrived during the day and so it was nice to return and see we were roomies again! We spent the night in the bar with Charlotte having a giggle!!
On Monday, I decided to give the beach a miss (mainly due to my red neck!) and I spent the day chilling out sprawled on a sofa reading a book. It was soooo relaxing!! In the evening the guys and I had dinner in the bar and played cards. Abi joined us and so did a new friend, Loveday who is from Essex and works at the hostel.
Tuesday we went to Australia Zoo which was home to the crocodile hunter - Steve Irwin .It rained all day!! But we had a good time and as the kids are back at school now, the place was pretty much empty. We fed elephants, stroked Koalas, Elliot had a photo taken cuddling one which Alex and I find very amusing!! We saw a bird and croc show and to our horror we had to stand up put our thumbs up and shout 'crikey' as loud as wecould! It was very cheesy but you had to laugh!! I took lots of photos which I'll put on truprint shortly! In the evening, we had a couple of bottles of wine and dinner in the bar again. Abi, and Loveday joined us again and it was a really lovely last night in Noosa.
We left this morning and are currently in Rainbow Beach. There is a storm brewing but we're told the weather will be good the next couple of days!!
Fingers crossed for England in tomorrow night's match, unfortunately we can't find anywhere to watch the game round here but hopefully we can catch the highlights. Take care all, lots of love, Shell xx
