Moscow
We made it to Moscow, it was sad saying bye to Mum, Nanny and Phil at the airport. Thank you for coming and waving us off.
Our flights were delayed getting into Moscow, but luckily the taxi driver we had booked through our hostel waited for us.
George was our driver and he spoke a tiny tiny tiny amount of English. He was a nice guy and absolutely loved Russia!
We found the hostel up 4 flights of stairs with help from some drunk Russians!
We are staying in a 8 bed mixed dorm room, we have small cupboards which you can lock with a padlock for your valuables, the bathrooms are clean and so is the bed lining.
We are staying at Napoleon Hostel, which I found on the internet before we came, we booked 3 nights at the hostel and the cab pick up from the airport. It's right near the centre of town and it's apparently where Napoleon stay when he had his short stint in Russia!

Our first meal is a sandwich and coffee which is so expensive about £8, London eat your heart out. We walk to red square which is really empty which we found a little odd!
The famous St. Basil Cathedral I thought was going to be a lot bigger but it was still impressive. We took photos and wonder around the Kremlin. There are a lot of uniformed guards everywhere and knowing they can stop and search you at any moment makes us feel a little on edge. They are known for being corrupt and often stop tourist as an easy way to get money!
We decide to go in the Kremlin but can't afford the ticket to go in all the cathedrals. Inside the Kremlins walls it is very impressive, gold everywhere, cannons and massive bells! We walk around and watch the other tourist lots of American missionary's!
For dinner we try and find somewhere cheap and look up in our guide book a nice street to go to, but its not cheap and we end up watching the European football! We are tired by 11pm, we have had a busy day travel and walking around.
Our first day in Russia and we have found out it's very expensive, the Russians are pushy with no idea of what a queue is, the buildings are on such a vast scale it's breath taking and they have the worst fashion taste we have seen in a long time.
Also our train tickets the first leg haven't arrived at the hostel, getting a little worried so will ring England tomorrow and find out where they are!
