Lucy's Globe-trot!
Wow what a week! Have been treated like princesses staying with our pal Penny in central Auckland - managed to go out on the town three nights out of six which I think is quite an achievement considering we rarely drink anything stronger than tea...(Ahem!!!!) After our windsurfing earlier in the week we ventured to Piha beach and saw some amazing surf and pretty skilled shark biscuits, some big pretty rocks (if you can call rocks pretty!) and ate fish and chips in the sand. Also took a trip to Waitomo to the underwater caves home to billions of little glow worms - completely surreal and beautiful but no photography allowed unfortunately.
Lucy J managed to squeeze a bungy jump from the Harbour Bridge in... a mad craze took hold of her so she booked it spur of the moment and then had all day to think about it before going and doing it - she was a tad nervous but she did it and I am soooo proud of her - the dvd is hilarious too! I am more keen to sky dive than bungy - something about that just doesnt sit right with me so maybe a sky dive somewhere in Oz next? Who knows?
We also ventured to an Ice Bar called Minus 5 where you get 25mins in a room made from a giant ice cube, a bar stacked full of flavoured vodka and the grooviest Eskimo-esque outfits you could ever wish for... that was great fun.
Our last night was spent mainly in a revolving restaurant on top of the Sky Tower. Amazing panoramic views of the city and beyond (good steak too according to Luce!)
Loved NZ but so excited about going to Oz...
