Lucy's Globe-trot!
Been in Sydney around four days now and really getting to know the Chinatown area quite well... you'd think this might be a good thing but this place is just full of shopping and eating opportunities at every possible turn - my bank balance and my waistline can't handle any more. We are hoping to get an apartment/houseshare deal down on one of the beachfronts where all the busy bars/clubs and little eateries are so we can actually start making some money. We are booked to complete our RSA course on Thurs. This is a pretty much obligatory certificate if you want to do anything close to bar/hospitality work (responsible serving of alcohol or something...) and we have to pay $70 for the pleasure.\! Should be great being by the beach though. Can't wait to get back in the water after my brief stint surfing in Newquay... hahaha I doubt I'll even be able to get up on a hard board but I want to do one of the many surf schools they run and go jet-skiing too. We spoke to a few fellas who had been to Coogee beach on a hostel trip yesterday and they were all told to evacuate the water as sirens went off all over the place... it was only a bloomin great white shark coming into shore wasn't it??!! Bit scary as I don't want to end up as a sharl biscuit, here's hoping they tend to go for brunettes over blondes!! Tara for now
