Today we got up and packed the car up again because we were off to Las Vegas Baby! The drive would take us 4.5 hrs and none of us were looking forward to it! We set off and as soon as we got out of the city it was really windy. So much so that the car was weaving across the freeway and it was very scary at times, especially when the big lorries were weaving too. It seemed to take for ages to get their and on the way we stopped at an outlet mall for a bit of shopping and to use the toilets. There was a coach store at the outlet and i bought a coach purse for $20 which was an excellent bargain because they are normally $100.
We finally arrived in Vegas at 4.30 having heard that there was a massive pile up behind us due to the winds so we were very lucky we weren't caught up in that. The traffic was bumper to bumper in Vegas and we hadn't a clue where we were going, except for the fact we were staying on the strip. We drove up and down the strip and eventually found the hotel which is more like a complex and shaped like a big circus tent. The hotel is that big you could easily spend a few days exploring everything the hotel has to offer but all we wanted to do was find our room. That was a task in itself! After asking lots of people we found it and were pleasantly surprised how nice it was. It had two king size beds in it and did the job quite nicely. Once we were settled in we went to the hotel buffet in one of the many restaurants the hotel has. The buffet was $14.99 and you could eat as much as you like once seated. We somehow lost our lady who was attempting to seat us (we saw the food) and next minute the lady was tapping us with a red flag and shouting at us to sit down. The choice of food was amazing, you could have anything from fresh sea food, beef, gammon, stew to salad..you name it they had it! The American's plates were literally piled sky high and put our two plates full to shame. The puddings were amazing too and of course i just about had room for them.
Totally stuffed we went back to the room (when we found it) showered and headed out onto the strip. Vegas is amazing because its like one big themed light bulb. Each hotel/resort has a theme and you can go from the Circus to Cesar's Palace, to New York to Paris all in one hour and we only had one day and two nights to explore everything! Our first stop was Treasure Island to see the Pirate show they put on each night. We were a bit early for the show so we went into the casino, found a bar and had a drink. The atmosphere was amazing! There was so much going on and i loved it. We waited for the show to start, i was all excited, even though i seen it before with Abbey when i used to work in San Diego but unfortunately due to high winds it was cancelled....i was gutted.
The next hotel we went in was the Mirage which is famous for its White Tigers and its erupting volcano in the lake out the front. The tigers were in bed but the volcano erupted and was amazing. The heat was that intense i though my eyebrows had been singed. Our next port of call was Cesar's Palace and oh my god was this impressive It literally had everything from the Treves fountain (don't know how to spell that), the coliseum and everything... It was amazing! Inside there were the p**** cat dolls, who were young girls wearing very little , dancing around fat old men who loose all their money because they are too busy perving at the girls. It was so funny to watch. Inside there was a massive line of people so i asked this girl what it was for but before i knew it the girls had met someone who got us into PURE the nightclub which is famous for the celebs that go in it. We literally bypassed the line of people and went straight into the club! The club was made up of 3 rooms, 1 titty bar, 2 the main club and 3 the VIP room. We ventured into all three and it was very impressive and obvious money talked because unless you were gorgeous and had surgery or loaded you were definitely out of place. We stayed about 20 mins before continuing on with our adventures down the strip.
Our next stop was the Bellagio and as we were approaching it we could hear music and there was a water fountain display in its massive lake at the front of the hotel. We missed most of the show but the bit we did see was impressive so that was a definite on the lists of things to do tomorrow. From the Bellagio we walked passed the Monte Carlo but weren't that impressed so carried on to New york, New York! This resort is fab as it has the statue of Liberty against the New York sky line and a massive roller coaster going through the hotel. All lit up it looked amazing!!
It was now 12.30am and we were cold and exhausted so we went back to the hotel by bus and slept the night away.
