Hi Everyone
Happy Australia Day. Can you believe I have been here for 4 weeks already. I am half way through my holiday. I have spent the last week crossing through Botswana. I had a great walk ion Ghanzi with the San tribe, it was so interesting. We learnt all about the plants and how to use them to survive. The tribe spoke in clicks which sounds really strange, thank god for interpreters.
We then spent an amazing two days in the Okavango Delta where we went on Mokoros through long reeds to an island and then went on a walk looking for animals, I was kind of happy we didn't see any. We then sat in the Mokoros (a sort of dug out canoe that is pushed by a pole) and watched the sun set over a pond with a hippo in the distance. AWESOME. It was so hot there though that I had to sneak off and go for a quick dip in just my knickers and shirt as I had not taken my bathers.
When we returned to town we went on a scenic flight which was more like a joy ride with the pilot doing some acrobatics, it was so fantastic I don't think I have ever squealed that much in my life!!! We also so heaps of animals from up there as we were flying quite low at times.
Today we went for a sunrise game drive in Chobe and saw heaps of animals including a hippo that was really close and a lion I could have touched!!!
As there are people waiting to use the net I will go now.
Love you all
Sharon
