Ok so I arrived in Bangkok ! I feel like its been a very long 5 days!, the coach dropped us off in the wrong place as agreed , so that was my first initial panic. At 4 am in the morning standing in Bangkok with taxi drivers in my face trying to Haggle to my destination, plus id been asleep so I was still asleep whilst all this was going on , it was scary. I arrived at the hotel. It was situated on a road that was more like an ally , very narrow with dark derelict buildings all up and down the street. The hotel lobby was neat, the corridors to my room was like the grudge, the room it self was like CSI or some drug squat film, which over the last few days on Skype and what's app I've been entertaining my self and many jokes to how canny this room has got have been used for some film! We've seen it before. The main thing was I did feel safe there believe it not.The next day Darren arrived to come and collect me, and break the Bangkok ice, we took the Mbk sky train from thonburi to nanna and Siam shopping Center, its easier than working out London tubes for the first time, like London you get off a stop and every tube station has a different area , if its for shopping partying etc. Bangkok is one of the worlds most polluted city's .. And don't I know it! The transport and malls are lovely and cold due to great air con systems and when you step out side I feel like I have vertigo, muggy smelly and too hot ! Shopping in Bangkok is immense, I briefly went to about 3 shopping malls one which was For the rich ( harrods London style ) a high street one. The second day the South African couple off my course came to do a few days in Bangkok so we briefly popped through the famous ko San road, where the beach was filmed at beginning of the film , it's attracts travellers from all over the world, the clothes were mint , I got my palms read by an indian guru, well out there ! I will be venturing back to Ko San road it's friendly hippy and cool. I also passed where they filmed hangover 2 the part when there on top of a building .This small trip to Bangkok was only brief , I will be sight seeing allot more the next time I venture in to the city, also the Thais love to dress everywhere they go they are overly dressed up in Bangkok , they know fashion pretty dam well ! All very sex in the city style or devil wear Prada.. If I had to sum up Bangkok in so many words it would be pollution ,street food sex sex and more sex fashion ,fast London on crack New York New York , busy ,organized chaos ,traffic ,crazy drivers ,pretty people ,great food food and more food and very smelly . Bangkok s not really for me , I still have so much more to see and do around the city .Today I've left bangkok to a small Thai village an hour away out of the city where there s a shop every 10 miles and I'm surrounded by jungle. I've got my own studio apartment which cost me 60 quid for the month electric and water ill pay at the end of my stay.. How cheap!!! I'm living with a Thai family who run a shop downstairs, there house is next door , The man is an ex police officer with daughters who go to the school i will be teaching at and he has a wife and 5 crazy dogs. Everyone's really friendly but I don't half stand out round here as nobody speaks a word of English. I start my new job tomorrow in Phutamanton school for one month which I'm excited about, and I've managed to find a gym. This month for me is going to be a huge cultural challenge as I need to pick up Thai very quickly to get by and I've been stripped of the material life I used to know, the life we take for granted and are always moaning about and we are still never satisfied .. For the next month I will be washing with cold water out of a shower you have to fill a bowl up with, no flush on the toilet i have to wash it down my self with a bowl Lol I know this " I'm a celebrity get me out of here" experience and life style will mold me and make me in to an Evan stronger and wiser spirit from the inside out and appreciate Evan more and see the world through a whole new eye .
