Woke up startled at 1030, didn't realize it was so late.
Had breaky downstairs, then off to Athloane. We parked by the river Shannon saw the Athloane castle, ventured into the bookshop, antique shop and Sean's bar (which is the oldest pub in Ireland) then we were off to Galway.
Found a fabulous hotel called The House Hotel by the bay. We set off to find dinner in the rain, drinks first at The Townhouse Bar. An interesting bar with an eclectic mix of retro and contemporary styles. 2 heinekens then off to Shop St to find dinner. Shop St is the heartbeat of Galway with cobblestone street mall. Lots of quaint eateries with music and appertising aroma's.
Dinner at Gemmel's restaurant in Shop Strret where Honey Duck with contreau sauce was my main.
We were far too tired to stay out, so it was bed by 11pm.
