Shane and Sarah's Adventures
Hey Everyone,
Well we have crossed the border back into Kenya and the highlights would have to be stopping for a couple of nights in Nakuru and Naivasha.
Nakuru is a brilliant game park with Nakura soda lake where thousands of Pink Flamingo feed. The mass of colour on the lakes edge is amazing - we got some great photos. We actually camped in the game park which was pretty freaky as there was all sorts of animal noises coming from outside the tent. Loads of Vervet monkeys and Baboons around the campsite, very cheeky wee things trying to steal the camps food! We did a game drive and got to see two white Rhino and a baby. The baby kept pretending he was going to charge the truck. Cute.
Naivasha was also really lovely. We hired a boat and went out on the lake with some of our group. We headed out to Cresent Island (which in fact is a penninsula) where they filmed 'Out of Africa' in the 1980's. On the way over we saw many families of Hippo chilling in the lake and talking to each other. Very cool!
Today we are back in Nairobery (ha ha) for a night and then we meet up with new group members joining our truck tomorrow for the next part of our trip.
Having a brilliant time and looking forward to next week.
Lots of love
Sarah and Shane
