Hey folks, We have arrived in Salvador after a 14 hour night bus that was actually pretty comfortable and we even got a goodie bag of chocolates and crisps for the first time! Since our last postcard we made our way to Praia da Pipa which is a resorty little town set on the atlantic coast praised for its friendly atmosphere and dolpin filled waters. Had a great few days there sunning ourselves and checking out the nature reserve where we saw the cutest little Brazillian monkeys, butterfly filled flowers and some small scurrying critters (lizards). 4 hours down the coast we found ourselves at Olinda. Again, a colonial town set on the coast. The shops and homes are colourful and they line pretty cobbled streets. This made cheerful walking and siteseeing of the many churches that inhabit this town. Unfortunately after eating tapioca (like a crepe) and drinking some caipirinhas (brazils famous cocktail) at a street stall I (Sarah) found myself not feeling the best the next day so Shane and I chill and take it easy. It was so hot! Up around 40 degrees and what felt like 100% humidity! Almost too hot actually and after our time in Africa and then the heat of Venezuela and northern Brazil we are kind of looking forward to the cooler weather down south! We are now in Salvador and it seems very pretty with lots to do (and the weather is cooler). We have a flight booked to Rio this Thursday which should give us plenty of time to explore the many streets in the old town and spend a day at the beach here. Thats all for now.... Love Sarah and Shane xx
