Yes thats right - the photo doesnt speak for itself at all - but I cannot speak more highly of the Amalfi Coast! Today, after doing all of the domestic duties required when travelling, I set of on my SITA bus to Amailfi via Positano. Now to tell you the truth, I was expecting great things and found my seat on the bus on the right hand side to get optimum photo opportunities, but I was awed when I saw just how beautiful the Coast drive is. To drive the 25 kms between Sorrento and Amalfi took 2 hours each way on widing corners in a bus, with scooters and buses coming the other way, very fine when there a sheer cliff below you to wake you up!
When I arrived at Amalfi, I wandered around bought some postcards, had some lemoncello (Amalfi is famous for its lemoncello (liquer) and a gelato, while watching the crowds converge on the only flart piece of land on the coast to worship the sun and sit under bright umbrellas and on sun loungers with the massive yachts moored with day trippers aswell, just like me! but after a while, the heat got to me and i headed on the bus back to Sorrento... And here I am now, updating the journal and just about to head back to the Campsite on the cliffs for pizza and coke in my single cabin (Im treating myself - sick of the snoring guys in dorms!)
The last few days have been amazing - Heat and Humidity a plenty - but I cant complain about my tan, thats for sure! Perugia was a lot busier then Modena and the city was VERY hilly! I think my legs are used to it after Siena though so no probs there, the hostel I was staying in was AMAZING! It was a bit of a trek out of town, but it was on a hill, in a farmhouse overlooking the Umbrian hills and with farmyard animals and a great pool for free - with a small hostel (nice guys - about 10 guests) I had a a great time based somewhere out of the city and enjoying the countryside (hows the serenity??) I didnt get into the chocolate factory - they were full with a tourgroup, but I got to see the town centre and now I can see why so many students are there to study italian! Its gorgeous!!
Tomorrow, Im heading to my hostel in Napoli and will head to Capri or the Archeological Museum and Herculaneum (depends what time the ferries and trains are running. what ever i dont get done tomorrow, i do the next day... ) and then Pompeii on the last day in Naples (cause it will be cooler that day) and there is NO SHADE whatsover for a 6 hour visit... Southern Italy in August heat - not a good idea... The sights make up for it though!!
I know I said I would update my photos in Sorrento but with my luck, the one place that accepts my cards, doesnt have USB access so I cant downlaod anything!! PAIN!! What a waste that internet card was, so im just enjoying the airconditioning and bumming around until my bus to the campsite arrives shortly - hope all is good wherever you are reading this from and i will update after I am finished in Naples and I can tell you everything!!

Gaby Wine rack looks very nice, but has a few flaws. The instructions say to use a 1/4 drill bit to drill into the wall and place the anhcors in those holes. However, the anhcors are too small for a 1/4 inch hole and slide right through making the rack very unstable after placing the weight of the wine on it. Also, the brackets on mine were not shaped right causing the rack to not be level. On a good note, the description states it holds 21 wine glasses, but if you are using smaller glasses or champagne flutes, it can hold up to 28.
