Sean & Laurel's Great Adventure
Tongariro Crossing! That's pronounced Tong-a-rear-o (soft 'g'). Laurel and I tackled this hike yesterday, at 17km and about 800m in elevation gain it was quite a hike. The weather decided not to cooperate and more or less rained on us from the first third to the last third of the hike. Despite all of that, it was a really neat hike and we had a great time with all of the many others who hiked it was well. Nearly 5000 people hike it a year.
Tired and sore we went to a thermal hot springs back in Turangi to soak our aching muscles, it was very nice.
No we are off to Levin for a week to WWOOF and then perhaps on to Wellington for the Christmas holiday. Hope you are all well. Cheers!
