Just waiting to be picked up by the liveaboard dive boat crew ready for our 6 days, 5 nights on the MV La Mahe.......
Thursday: Got back this afternoon after an absolutely amazing trip. The boat was lovely, not the smartest that I have been on but a lot of thought had obviously been put into it's layout and how it was run. It was the crew and dive guides that really made the trip as they were all well organised, helpful, knowledgeable and fun. The food was good (an important element as four dives a day builds up an appetite!) and the company from other divers great, quite an international mix.
The diving was world class and lived up to the reputation that the Similan islands, Surin island and Richeleau Rock has for high life sites. Highlights were definitely the dive where we had at least three large manta's swimming round us and then on Richeleau rock to see the tiger tailed seahorse (so special for me that I had to go again for a second visit on the next dive!). We saw loads of ghost pipe fish, different types of morays, nudibranks, a turtle, leapard sharks, harlequin shrimps and huge shoals of fish to name a few. All in all it has been fantastic and felt like a mini holiday within the trip.
Back to reality and tomorrow we are on a morning bus to Krabi and then on a ferry to Koh Phi Phi.
