Whew! 8:00 pm here. Just got in our hotel Villa Modigliani in the middle of Paris. Our day started with a 5:00 am taxi to the Eurostar station. We checked in, got patted down in security, and boarded the train. Got up to almost 200 miles per hour. We saw lots of beautiful French countryside with lots and lots of farmland. Each little village had a giant church and a few dozen houses. We arrived in Paris after 2 hours. We met our tour guide and immediately boarded a luxury bus for a day of sightseeing. We took lots of pics (which we'll download when we get back to London). Spent an hour cruising down the Seine River then viewed the city from the 56th floor of Paris' tallest building Montmarsse. We then went to the Louvre and walked at least 20 miles. Saw the Venus de Milo, the Mona Lisa, and about 10,000 other works of art. Abby managed to single handedly lead us through the Paris Metro (subway) back to our home base area. We found an authentic French restaurant and ate salad and fresh salmon, etc. We plan to spend the day tomorrow on our own, hopefully going to Notre Dame and Versailles. More later. Bon Soir!
