Today (Friday) we took a river cruise around Manhattan Island, up close and personal with the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Lunatic Asylum, got to cruise under the Brooklyn Bridge and the many many other bridges along the way, saw Yankee Stadium in The Bronx, Harlem, also the Circle Line cruise terminal where we caught the boat was where the plane landed in the Hudson a few years back, loved the day so much.
Off to Kennedy airport and next stop San Francisco. If we thought it was cold in New York, my gosh, got nothing on the cold here. Had dinner at a real 50's diner, yummy food, a few beggars, but very polite ones, one even commented on my raggedy old windcheater, hotel is beautiful, don't want to leave and venture out into the freezing cold. The clog here is actually fascinating, the drive from the airport was at about 6.30pm and the fog was creeping down the hills and enveloping all the houses, like nothing I have seen before, they just swallowed the buildings up, but it was really pretty, tried to take pics but our driver must have been in a hurry, not a chance with all the bouncing.
Off now to explore San Francisco, gloves in hand.
