Happy to have arrived in Sydney yesterday. It was only a 15 hour flight from LAX (where we drank margaritas and ate chips and guacamole). The flight was uneventful and fine. I watched four movies - Book of Eli, The Good Guys (shout out to Sara and Susan), the A-team, and Burlesque - quality flicks!
Wasn't able to sleep much, so needless to say, my first day in Australia was difficult to stay awake. Thank goodness Mike took first turn driving, I wasn't up for driving on the other side of the road.
Mike and I have the pleasure to re-connect with an awesome couple we met 5 years ago in Africa, Rick and Julie. They live in the Blue Mountains, just outside of Sydney. Joining them is 6 month old Liam, what a sweetheart and lovely addition to their family.
Now the Blues have been luring Sydneysiders, for more than a century, up with the promise of cool climate relief and naughty fireside weekends. It has astounding views and incredible 'bushwalks'. The Blues get their name from the blue haze that is formed from the fine mist of oil exuded by eucalyptus trees. And yes it is blue. Wild.
