Woohoo our second country, well 3rd if we count Macau where we went for the day whilst in Hong Knog, apparently it's a seperate country from China but never mind!!
Well we are just chilling out in Bangkok, we have a nice hotel with a pool so have been swimming and doing water aerobics with Sindy! We have had pedicures and massages which have cost almost zero pence as everything is so cheap its crazy and there are millions of places to get all this done, just make sure you say no to a happy ending, unless you are into that type of thing.....
For a change we went shopping and bought more clothes, shoes, etc. Goodness knows where they are going to go but never mind. At our hotel we have pet turtles, fish and birds right outside our room it's cool. Siobhan got her hair in braids - its mega cool - pleasecheck the photos and leave comments haha!
We were involved in a tuk tuk race on the way to the worlds crappest club, there were 3 cars and we were all racing each other and passing roses between cars like batons it was so funny! We then met our group and learned that the Thai wore yellow on a Monday as its the kings colour and he was born on a Monday! Kinda cool but weird. They seem to have a different colour every day but yellow seems to be a favourite, so much so that Siobhan bought a yellow t-shirt dedicated o the King and wore it on all sorts of days!
Our new tour guide was called Sam, or Sam Sam, or Sam Sam but different, a little in joke we have! Our new group consisted of Helen, Cathy, Emily, Rickie-Lee, James, Marlene, Mardi and I forgetting one person? God I suck!
Siobhan went to the river with some of our new group and gave offerings of flowers with candles in them but i cant remember why!
After the wonder that is Bangkok we headed to Kanchanaburi. This is where the bridge over the river kwai is and all the war memorials of the prisoners of war etc, the bridge is cool you can walk over it but it is still a running railway line so we were quite confused when we had to jump on a wee platform to let a train past!! But we surrvived. We got over the bridge and found a baby elephant that you could feed so we did that too, it was great.
Then next day we went to a really nice waterfall in Erawan National Park. It has seven different levels, Siobhan was a tad hungover and had an injured foot so only made it to level 2! Saying that I never made it to above level 2 either.
At level 2 you could go swimming but the only problem was the water was full of fish that sook at you the minute you get in the water - needless to say Siobhan was terrifed, fish are bad enough but sooky ones, she nearly had a heart attack, not even kidding! Anyway after bout 15 minutes she jumped in and overcame her fear of fish, she did cut her foot open in a panic trying to get out the water and she was slightly hyperventilating because she was so scared but she did it and we are all very proud of her! whoop whoop!
After all that excitement she passed out and susan walked up to the top of the waterfall.
We then went to the Tiger Temple where you get to touch the tigers and take them for a walk with one of the monks. It was the most amazing experience although also very scary as the tigers were getting grouchy and kept growling one of them opened its mouth and a head so could of fitted in it, we were terrified but would definitely go back there!
While here we also met a Jonny Depp look a like and got to sit on his motorbike and ride another one, it was so much fun. Siobhan also got invited to some sort of lock in with the owners for some guys birthday so they got cake and all sorts free drink till 5 in the morning woohoo only problem was it was thai whiskey but never mind she drank it all the same (this is why she was so hungover at the waterfall....ahhhhh.....
We then headed to Chaing Mai on the banter train! They were cold and light when you were trying to sleep, but that is why they have a RAVE CARRIAGE! It was fantastic! It is basically a carriage that has a disco on it and you just get tanked with all the other travellers and some of the locals. We danced the night away on top of chairs, hanging out the open windows (Gerry would have a coronary!) and having banter with the bar lady/man whose favourite songs were gifted to the world by the cheeky girls, disgusting!!! Siobhan also thought it would be fun to stick her bum out the window! She could have fallen right out, you have no idea about this carriage until oyu experiance it, the windows are just like usual Scotrail or GNER windows but they are basically not there! Haha! The beds were so funny 2 they were chairs that magically became beds it was crazy!
Anyway, in Chaing Mai we went straight fr an elephant trek! We had the biggest elephant and our driver got off and left us to ride it ourselves, the elephant went out of control and started walking up crazy steep hills we were so scared we thought we were going to fall off and die! We had bananas to feed the elephants but the one behind me just came and stole our whole bunch and gobbled them all up so our elephant got none. Poor Poucho or however u spell its name. Susan and Mel had a naughty elephant which was causing havoc so their driver had to stay in control!!! It was managing to spray mud all over them both and the others! Haha! It was like we were on Lost or Jurrasic Park walking through all the rainforests and stuff AMAZING!!!
At night we went to the night bizzare which is food and market stalls for tea then we went to watch the thai boxing - 6 pacs all round!! Ding ding ding haha watching the thai crowd was more exciting than watching the actual fights and they kept putting ice down there shorts???? The last fight was a fat thai guy and a sweedish guy who won after about a minute, it was soooooo set up but banter all the same! Wwe then fitted 4 people in a tuk tuk and headed home, what banter!!
Chaing Mai was the beginning of our three day and 30km trek!!!! This was a bloody nightmare to be honest! It was nice to see the scenery and all that, experience a bit of villiage life, but in all honesty I wuold rather cut off my legs than subject them to another 3 days of trekking up 45 degree angle hills in humid 30 degree temperatures with 60ltr rucksacks on our back! Although we did have porters for 2 of the days, in my defence we were giving to the local community, weren't we?
The villages were fun. We visited a loal school and a nursery and took great pleasure in playing with all the wee ones! The were so cute! One of the little boys in th nursery was even put in the naughty corner, poor thing! Haha! At the bigger school we practised a few english words with them, but they were really good at English and I am sure they could have taught us a thing or two about English grammer! we also received a show by the local Akha and Lisu tribe children which was nice. We helped to make dinner too!
If anything the trek was banter really. It was funny watching Helen ty to pull Hot Guy number....what was it again? 3? or was it 2? I can't remember! Haha! We also got some delicious oranges from a farm on the way home! The best I have ever ever had!
Tired now, will update more later.................................Sorry, I know it's really lazy of me considering this all happened a month ago now and we are in Bali! Ah, happy days! But remember people, we are adopting a thai time policy, take it easy!
