So, we made it to Vegas baby!
Dean made the journey considerably more entertaining by having a fight with a bottle of Smoothie on the train journey on our way here. I swear I laughed so hard a little bit of wee nearly came out. Basically we were merrily sitting on the train having a little beverage (Dean's being a smoothie and mine the slightly more hard core Gin and Tonic.) Anyway, he must've forgotten that he'd removed the lid from his said drink and decided to give it a good shake (As you do with a smoothie, you know, to get all the fruit bits from the bottom.) Well the blinking stuff shot everywhere - all over the table, window, floor, all over his clothes, all over his face… I literally could not breathe from laughing so hard. The more I laughed the angrier he got with me, and the angrier he got the more I laughed. I was literally rolling around the isle whilst he yelled on about how the sugar was burning his eyes. Eeeee, good times.
Well Vegas... it's superficial, it's spectacular, it's like nowhere I've ever been before. Imagine Blackpool, but wearing 3d glasses, after too much sugar and maybe on some illegal substance of some sort.
We're staying at the MGM Grand which has turned out to be an amazing deal. We're paying $40 per night for a luxury room with Jacuzzi and all meals included. By day we venture to the poker tables where scantly-clad ladies fetch us cocktails before its even noon (Yeah baby!). By night we've been watching shows and checking out some of the local free displays including a water and light show and volcano display.
Poker-wise, although we haven't had any major wins we're still breaking even. Last night it was handbags at the ready when I entered a ladies tournament. The one major difference I found with this as opposed to the regular male-dominated game was that women talk so Bloody much! I was trying to concentrate on pot odds and bet sizes and they were all 'nail varnish' 'Gucci bags' and 'dress sizes'! Today I won a $100 prize for having the best hand of the hour at the 'Hard Rock café' which excited me greatly. Also managed to bat my eyelashes at some guy and got three free poker t-shirts which is fabulous because free stuff rocks.
Anyhoo, Hope to speak to you all soon
