Day 21
After another journey, crossing another border, another currency and another language later, we were in ANOTHER country...Singapore. We were greeted with heavy rain which looked promising. But after a Burger King and a scrub up, we were ready to hit Raffles Hotel. We sat in a bar in Raffles called 'Long Bar' and paid S$20 for a drink each (which is a tenner). Most of us got a 'Singapore Sling' but we don't like them so we chose a tequila sunrise and a tiger beer instead. There was a big bowl of peanuts in the middle of the table to knibble on and people just throw the shells on the floor...and you thought Raffles was posh!
So we then met the rest of the group and ate a curry at a restaurant by the riverside. It was so gooood but very expensive compared to the Thai and Malaysian prices we were used to. They had tanks of live fish, crabs and lobsters and Scarlett and Laura planned to buy a fish and set it free in the river...untill the found out the price! We then went to 7eleven, bought aload of booze and sat on the bridge and got drunk.
One bottle of vodka later we found ourselves singing to Bon Jovi in a karaoke bar (well screaming to it). It was so sad because it was our last night together but it was so much fun! We've made some amazing friends that we hope to meet up with after our travels.
Love Scarlett and Stu xxxx
