Day 129
Today the Oz Experience bus was taking us to surf camp at Arrawarra Beach. Because the journey between Byron Bay and Sydney is so long we have a compulsary stop there where we pay $45 for accomodation and food and we get a free 3 hour surf lesson. Wehn we got there, we were greeted by a surfer dude with blonde dreds and shades. We were shown round and found ourselves sharing a container with Petra and Martin from our bus. There were only 8 people on our bus, 4 swiss, 1 sweedish, us and a scouse.
We got our wetsuits (because the sea is freezing in winter) and boards and did some stretching on the beach. Scarlett couldn't go in the water though because she'd just got a tattoo so she watched everyone else from the beach. It was pretty cool to watch everyone surfing and seeing whales on the horizon splashing about.
After warm shower and some grub, we got out the goon and sat round the campfire.
Day 130
We had a nice and early wake up of 6 which didn't go down well with a goon hangover, and it was still dark and cold. We had some brekkie and set off for a 9hour bus journey. A Hungry Jack's stop half way through, which is Aussie Burger King, sorted out the hangovers. Our bus driver, Muppet, put on a couple of dvds so it wasn't too bad.
We arrived in Sydney about 3:30 and got the train to meet Scarlett's mum's cousin, Tom. We went back to his and met his wife Elaine and the cute Leo who is only two. It's was so good to be in a nice warm house after a 9 hour journey. They cooked us spaghetti carbonara, it was sooo good!
