Had a couple great days in LA. Great riding, food, music and people. Crawfish, catfish, hush puppys, grits, gumbo and a drink at the drive through liquor store / bar. Meet a few characters along the way; a few of which I could understand very little of. Passed a dead alligator on the side of the road this morning about a half mile of where we camped, He was big enough to have eaten at least a limb or two. Makes the mosquitoes seem not so bad. Also a dead armadillo and a soon to be dead snapping turtle attempting to cross the road. A bit hazardous riding. Crossed the Mississippi and will spend the night in Jackson MS., does not seem like a very nice place. Was warned by other travels to stay out of the south part of town, but of course that is were you have to go to get good hole-in-the- wall southern cooking. Had a good dinner of red beans and rice - a staple down here, and am safely back in camp. Heading to Tupelo MS. tomorrow.
