Woke up at 530am and watched the sunrise. Its a beautiful sunny day. Walk around town, found my way onto a track near Buddhist temple - amazing scenery looking out onto the snow capped mountains. Scattered along the track were Buddhist artefacts, monkeys, cows, colourful stupas, prayer wheels, and hundreds of prayer flags. Went into the Buddhist temple to have a preview for tomorrow. Watched the dalai lama and hundreds of monks chanting - so exciting! lunch at mammas cafe - banana lassi (curd milkshake - so yum), veg momos (dumpling), hot n sour soup. As im eating, theres dogs walking in and out restaurant, cars/motorbikes/tuk-tuks honking their horns, monks walking past talking on mobile phones. The streets are filled with beggars and sleeping stray dogs. I followed some monks down a road ending up in a town called baghsu. at their temple the gongs were ringing and things were sounding official amidst a backdrop of snowy mountains..., and i did not to expect to see a 25m pool with monks doing bomb dives and playing hackie sack. On my way back to town I found a little yoga studio run by an older Indian man with long grey hair. Yay yoga! I came back at 4pm for the 2 hour class with about 8 other people. By 6pm I was all headstanded out excited for the dalai experience tomor...
