The Majestic Journey: An eye-opening Journey through Bhutan
Weeks and months passed in sheer anticipation. But now the day is finally here, I am going to Bhutan. A fortunate opportunity not many are so lucky to get. I realize the position I am in and feel ready to make the most of every moment while there. Three whole months in this magical country. At the airport I sat and reflected on what it was that made me so tempted to go to Bhutan. I was intensely curious about what this foreign, isolated, mystical country was really like. Intrigued by the development path it is carefully handpicking. Wondering whether it lives up to its fairytale descriptions, or whether those can be dismissed as illusionary frauds. I am fascinated most by the philosophy through which the country is governed and inspired by the original concept, Gross National Happiness. Bhutan, from my amateur understanding, is a nation that cares deeply about its natural reserves, its culture, spirituality, and is genuinely practicing good governance and sustainable development. The citizens seem to live in peace and harmony alongside each other - cultivated genuine compassionate souls.
Let's see what Bhutan is really all about…
