Hey Czech it out!
Just arrived in our 7th country and been out for a bang on Czech meal, complete with stuffed baby deer in the window. Strange.....
We loved Slovenia, beautiful little country. Lake Bled was the most picturesque lake and sooo clear and warm to swim in. Then visited a gorge and a huge cave. It was proper touristy but impressive none the less, it included a 2km train ride under the ground. The capital, Ljubljana was very small but a lovely old town with bars and restaurants along the river. Went for a night out which was going well until we had a lovely cocktail called a green b*stard that gave me a spliiting headache and we had to go home half way through a foo fighters song. Noooooo!!!!
On the way to Hungary we stayed a couple of nights in Ptuj (European Capital of Culture 2010 apparently). The site was attached a thermal spa/waterpark with a wave pool. I can't remember what was supposed to be fun about wave pools, standing in moving water, jumping up and down!
Hungary was the next stop, first lake Balaton which was huge but pretty murky and not too picturesque so only stayed there one night. Also the most amount of bugs I've ever seen and Justin spotted a snake in the water and his Indiana Jones style phobia kicked in.
Then to Budapest where Justin bumped into someone he new in the street - queue 'it's a small world' quotes.. We both really liked Budapest, lots to see and of course we visited one of the spas as we have developed a penchant for sweating in a room with strangers.
After that we had a day in Bratislava, very nice old town and are now in a small village in the Czech republic, rubbing our full bellies.
Hope you are all well and see you all soon!
