figured i'd write real quick while i have the chance. i made it down here to koh tao. our bus left about 7 pm and then around 2:30 am we got to champorn to wait for another bus to take us to the ferry. the bus doesnt come to pick us up until around 6 am so they put us in this room that have straw mats on the floor and tell us to sleep... we'll be there for awhile. we're all so exhausted... we dont care where we sleep. we get on the ferry and about 3 hours later we arrive in paradise. the water here is absolutely amazing... and hopefully, as long as i dont lose any more memory cards or cameras, i'll be able to post the pictures for you. there is a bay here called shark bay... you guessed it... there's sharks there. many, many of them. but they are just whale sharks so they wont eat you... hopefully. but they all come into this bay.. kinda like the seals down in la jolla... so you can go swimming with them. some are large... about the size or a full grown man... others are smaller. but to be honest, neither one of them are very comforting to swim with. there's also this place called freedom beach. havent gotten over there yet... you have to rent a motobike to get there... it's supposed to be amazing... i think we'll head over there in a couple days.

tomorrow is st. patty's day and i can almost guarantee i havent celebrated one before like i will tomorrow. there is about 8 or 9 true irish lads in our group and they are a bit rowdy. lots of fun, but i have a feeling it's going to get a little out of hand. we all went to this pub last night to watch ireland and england play rugby and i've never heard so many strong accents yelling at once. it was great... very educational.

oh, and on a more serious note... i almost got killed by a coconut today. we were walking down one of the streets in town and it fell from one of the trees and it missed me by inches. it used to be the number one death here in thailand, but now its motobikes. (dont read that last sentence mom)
