(T) After being entertained at breakfast by Alfie ( Marg's grandson ) we headed off to see the surrounding area. Stonehenge, Bath and Lacock Abbey were on the hit list.
(S) Stonehenge was very interesting, it's just amazing how they can get those huge rocks to stand upright and to then heave the other ones on top, it's just beyond me. What was also interesting was that they used sort of tounge and groove joins to make the crossover rocks stay on the other ones.
Bath was beautiful, just like a picture! I think Tim is getting sick of my vocabulary consisting of mainly the words beautiful, pretty, cute etc....We had a pub meal here for lunch! I was a little excited about this and had pork sausages with creamy mashed potato and thick red onion gravy (dad, you would have loved the gravy).
Lacock wax a very cute little town, they do a lot of filming here for movies and TV shows. They've used the streets for Pride and Prejudice. The Abby was used for filming the classroom and corridor scenes in Harry Potter (The Philosopher's Stone and The Chamber of Secrets), so you could imagine, I was very excited indeed! (T) This was lost on me a little bit but it still looked great and Sarah was over excited to be walking in the same place as Harry......
(T & S) we headed back to Marg and Doug's house for dinner. What great hosts, it's a shame our visits have to be so short and so far apart.
